RemoteApp Security Warning

An April 2026 Windows update has added an additional verification step to Microsoft Remote Apps.
Because of this change, you may see the warning shown below when launching Execu/Tech hosted applications.

Before running any Execu/Tech Hosted Application, verify the following things if you see this message:

Publisher: *.execu-tech.com
Remote computer: ends in EXECU-TECH.COM
Gateway server: ends in execu-tech.com

Before connecting it is important to check the proper resources.

Be sure these are checked:
✓ Drives
✓ Clipboard
✓ Printers

Failure to check these items will result in print failure, document download failure and copy / paste failure between the application and your Windows desktop.

Once the correct items are checked, you can check "Remember my choices for remote connection from this publisher" so these will be pre-selected the next time.

Optional Compatibility Fix

Microsoft provides a temporary compatibility setting that restores the previous RemoteApp warning behavior.
This setting may help prevent printer and device redirection settings from being saved incorrectly.

Registry Setting:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services\Client

DWORD:
RedirectionWarningDialogVersion = 1

If you want the launcher to apply the registry setting automatically, you will need to update the launcher at each computer.

  1. Update the Cloud Launcher. See Cloud Launcher Update for instructions.

  2. Once the launcher has been updated, you will see an orange bar that says RemoteApp Compatibility Setting NOT ENABLED. Click for info.
    Click on the bar.

  3. The following window will appear.
Click Add Registry Setting at the bottom. Note: Windows administrator credentials will be required to add this setting.
