We will install your software updates. We will always contact you first and schedule them according to your convenience. Note: Updates are scheduled only between 10:00am and 3:00pm Central Time, Monday through Thursday. If your IT professional would like to install the updates, you may contact Execu/Tech to make arrangements. The best way to install Execu/Tech software updates is by running ETUpdate.exe. See Software Updates. This application will back up your current programs and files, and then download and install updates. However, if your network's security settings do not allow downloads, you will have to install the updates using the procedures listed below. If you are not a network professional, you should not do this.
When the Software Updater opens, do the following:
Check "Use 'update.zip' from \update folder."
Select Next.
After you have installed all updates, you should do the following: (Failure to perform these tasks can result in error or problems.)
Print sample POS credit card receipts. The format has changed. To change it back, open MENUINI.FIL in the Hotel Folder and add the line: POS-RECEIPTTEXT=NO
Print a folio and registration form. You should not see anything different unless you are updating from a very old system. If there is a problem, contact Execu/Tech.
Test all functions of the system. Do this prior to peak service if possible. As with any software update, you may see changes in the look or functionality. If you have questions or see a message you do not understand, please contact Execu/Tech.
