Shift4 i4Go V2 Browser and Operating System Exceptions

Browser All customers using Shift4 for credit card processing must upgrade to Internet Explorer 11* or Edge on any computer that needs to process credit cards. This is required because ieframe.dll is used by Execu/Tech. Older versions of ieframe.dll do not support required functions. If you won't be processing credit cards directly through the server console, or via Remote Desktop, then the server isn't required to upgrade to Internet Explorer 11* or Edge. However, for support and troubleshooting reasons, we recommend that you do upgrade to Internet Explorer 11 or Edge. Operating System Please verify that your operating system meets the system requirements for Internet Explorer 11* or Edge. If your operating system doesn't support Internet Explorer 11 or Edge, it will not work with our Shift4 i4Go V2 interface. See Internet Explorer 11 System Requirements. *Note: Internet Explorer (IE) 11 desktop application ended support for certain operating systems on June 15, 2022. Servers

• Our software works with Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, including RemoteApp.
• 
  Our software will use both the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (Included with .NET Framework  3.5) and 4.7.2 or later. Please have your IT professional verify that these are installed at the server and clients.

• Smaller networks containing 6 or fewer clients: you might find that using a non-server operating system as your server may be adequate. However, you may also find that performance degrades as multiple users access the software at the same time.
• Windows Server 2022
  This is our preferred server operating system.
  Microsoft will stop supporting this operating system on October 14, 2031.
• Windows Server 2019
  This operating system works great.
  Microsoft will stop supporting this operating system on January 9, 2029.
• Windows Server 2016
  This operating system works great.
  Microsoft will stop supporting this operating system on January 11, 2027.
• Windows Server 2012 / R2
  Support ended on October 10, 2023.
  From Microsoft: "After this date, these products will no longer receive security updates, non-security updates, bug fixes, technical support, or online technical content updates. If you cannot upgrade to the next version, you will need to use Extended Security Updates (ESUs) for up to three years." See Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 reaching end of support.
  
• Windows Server 2008 / R2
  Support ended on January 14, 2020.
• Windows Server 2003 / R2
  Not supported

Clients

•

  This is our preferred operating system.
• Windows 10
  This operating system works great.
  Microsoft will stop supporting this operating system on October 14, 2025.
• Windows 8 / 8.1
  Support ended on January 10, 2023.
• Windows 7
  Support ended on January 14, 2020.
• Windows XP
  Support ended on June 30, 2018.
• "Home" versions of these operating systems are not supported. They work, but we can't offer advice on configuring the file sharing.

Tablets (POS Tableside)

• Tablets and other handheld devices will access the software directly (Windows tablets) or using a Remote Desktop client software. More Information: Tableside Wireless Tablets
