Home > Errors / Fixes > Shortcut Properties

There are several reasons you need to access your application shortcut properties. You might want to change your terminal number, change your POS shortcut to an auto login kiosk mode, or make adjustments for a new server name or network path.

Follow these steps to see your shortcut properties.

  1. Right click your application shortcut then click Properties.

  2. You should now see the shortcut properties window. Make sure you click the Shortcut tab if it isn't already selected.

  3. Here's what the important fields mean to you. The application will not work without both of these fields configured properly.
    • Target
This is the command line that runs the application. this contains the full path to the runtime (wrun32.exe) and the command line options needed to work properly.
In this example, the full target is "\\Server\Executech\HotelTest\wrun32.exe -w -c wruncbl.fil start 01"
At the end of the target you see the terminal number, this is always a 2 digit number from 01 to 99 and must be unique for each terminal.
    • Start in
This is where you define what the application will understand as its home folder. When you set this correctly, the application doesn't need to specify the entire path to a file, like a database file or image or HTML template, it can just use the filename itself. For example, it can just open MENU.FIL rather than having to open \\Server\Executech\HotelTest\MENU.FIL.
    • Both Target and Start in must use the same folder.
