Execu/Suite Cloud Hosting


Cloud hosting will only be as reliable as your internet connection. If your internet connection is lost, you will also lose access to the hosted software. You should consult your IT professional to determine if multiple internet providers should be used to provide redundancy.

Contact your Internet Service Provider for each remote location that needs access and ask for the public IP address, addresses, IP address range, etc., that each remote location will use. Please provide us with this information. We need to whitelist these addresses to provide better security for your data and ensure uninterrupted access to the hosted software.

Failure to provide this information to us may result in restricted access if a user attempts to log in with incorrect usernames or passwords. Never attempt to use credentials that Execu/Tech didn't provide. Contact us if you're not sure which credentials to use.


Because we interface with credit card processing gateways that encrypt and tokenize all credit card data, we do not store any credit card data. If you choose not to use one of the interfaces we provide, you will not have a link between the guest information in our software and the payment information you keep separately.

Placing credit card information in note or comment fields is a terrible idea and may result in the entire record being purged to maintain PCI compliance. 


How does it work?

We create a new Microsoft Windows Server on Microsoft Azure. We do not share servers, so this means that your property will be the only one hosted on the server. Your data is isolated and secured. Using our Cloud Application Launcher, we provide you with shortcuts that you can click on and gain access to the software, now hosted in the cloud. 

Our cloud hosting application launcher only runs on the Windows operating system.

Android devices can use Microsoft Remote Desktop

We will provide you with the static IP address of the cloud server, as well as the port number being used so that you can make the necessary changes to your router and firewall. Since this uses Microsoft's Remote Desktop Protocol connected via Remote Desktop Gateway, you'll need to make sure that your firewall isn't blocking outgoing traffic on port 443 (TCP). This connection is secured with an up to date SSL certificate using TLS 1.2. If your security needs require the use of a different port, just let us know.

  • Bandwidth Requirements

To ensure optimum performance for all users, we recommend 128 kb per second download and 56 kb per second upload for each user. This means that if you have 10 users logged in at the same time, you should have at least 1.28 Mb per second download and 560 kb per second upload. This example represents a small fraction of the bandwidth provided with high-speed internet services, but you should still verify with your internet service provider to be sure your internet service plan is adequate.

 

Latency (ping) is also a factor to be considered. Latency is the length of time it takes for data to travel to the hosted server and return to you. If your latency is 100ms, that means it takes a minimum of 1/10th of a second for you to see the results of your mouse click on a button.

Cloud Hosting Bandwidth Test

This Bandwidth test is hosted on one of our cloud servers and will show you the speed between your computers and our cloud servers. 

  • Interfaces

You will need a static IP address at your property if you want to interface with things like a phone system, movie and entertainment system, POS system, etc.
This is necessary because we use Comtrol's LLPTS service to facilitate our interfaces. This service will be installed at your property and communicate with each of these systems. Our cloud server will also communicate with this service and exchange information with it like guest check ins, room moves, wake up calls, phone call charges, etc. 
We will provide you with the port number used by Comtrol's LLPTS service once it's installed. This port number can be changed if needed.

  • All HTML print templates (Folio, Reg Card, Confirmation Letter, etc.) must use a print utility called Totem Print.

This is done by adding "$TOTEM" to the top of the HTML template files.
If this isn't done, print jobs may not complete or may complete but not print.
